But, if you turn over, the strap hits you at the top of your legs and you can't lower your lets. If you are a total back sleeper, you might sleep fine on it. And, this also makes the rest of the cot lower than the strap. This could be a good thing if not for the fact that that is where your hips are when you are lying down. However, and this is a big however, this has to be the most uncomfortable cot I have ever slept on! It seems this is a design flaw in which the cot has an extra support type sewn-in strap that dead centers the cot where it folds. The side pouch is a nice touch for your gear.
